Our Painting Challenge took place on Friday 15 June 2018 at Crook Hall. Congratulations to Deryck Simpson for winning the Bob Miller Award for 2018!
Hi all! As you can tell from her lovely comments below that Tina has lovingly created and managed the Deerness Art Group website for many years. I feel very privileged that she has passed the baton on to me and the group has entrusted me with the upkeep of the website. I will try my very best to reply to any correspondence we receive online and keep everyone updated. If you have any suggestions or news that you feel is relevant to us please feel free to leave your comments here or contact us. I look forward to learning lots of new things! Paoi :)
One of our members, Margaret Weavill is having her own exhibition. This is one talented lady! She invites you to St. Andrew's Church, Chilton Moor, Durham on Saturday 17th June between 10am and 2pm. As well as her original pictures there will be prints and cards for sale. Entry is free but light lunches are on sale at £6 and tea coffee and cakes are available. The exhibition will be open for throughout the following week.
Why not check out Maggie out on Facebook.
Guess who I bumped into while on a nice walk round the village this week. None other than our old friend and former member - Fr. Wilf McConnell. He is well but recovering from a hip replacement and still has a walking stick. He still goes to the Bearpark artists classes and can't get in to the club here in Lanchester as it is fully subscribed.
Great to see him again.
At last we are with our new hosting site which for those interested in these things is called WizzHosting. We have also got our email forwarding sorted out and our members' gallery should now be accessible - there was a little problem with the link.
I'm pleased to say that I have now got two volunteers in the persons of Mike P and Paoi who will help to keep the site up to date and hopefully improve it too.
Now the sun is shining and the spring flowers are all in bloom. A good impetus to get painting.
Small problem with the members gallery but I'll get on to that. In the meantime it needs some work to add more stuff so it is just a matter of finding the time now.
After much tribulation, I'm hoping to live today. Here goes!
Well here we are with a brand new website - looking a little bit like the old one! After many travails trying to keep the last site updated, we have gone for something simpler for us to manage. We hope to keep this blog up to date with regular postings. So here goes for starters:
If you would like to have an image of your work displayed, please email to Tina in .jpg format with any details that you wish to add.
